Marko Schumacher, responsible for Best Supps

I am Marko Schumacher and I am responsible for Best Supps. My perspective on training and supplementation did not originate with this shop. It combines seventeen years in a physically demanding military career, formal training in the fields of sports and emergency services, and work on websites and shops in this exact industry, professionally since 2016.

Where I come from

From 2004 to 2021, I was a career soldier in the Austrian Armed Forces, spending a significant portion of that career in a special forces unit. The path there led through a selection process and multi-stage specialized training. In my role as a combat swimmer, endurance, strength, and strength endurance were not leisure activities for years, but professional requirements.

During this time, I completed training as a sports instructor and emergency paramedic. This was complemented by training in general emergency competencies, pharmacology, as well as venous access and infusion. Anatomy, physiology, vital functions, and pharmacology were therefore part of my training.

My own focus was never on classic bodybuilding, but on endurance, strength endurance, and functional performance. Training, recovery, nutrition, and supplementation have therefore occupied me long before Best Supps.

From training to digital commerce

I have been working on e-commerce, SEO, and online marketing projects since 2016, and full-time since 2021. A significant part of this work has been in the health, food, and supplement sector: for manufacturers, retailers, international companies, and high-reach German-language content projects in the field of weight management.

I have spent years writing texts, structuring categories, and building rankings in this industry. In doing so, I have seen how the sentences that appear everywhere and rarely hold true are created, and where the legal boundary actually lies as opposed to where one might assume it to be. Precisely this experience is the reason for the way things are written here.

Why there are no efficacy promises here

In the supplement sector, factual information and advertising are closely linked. Just because a product contains a substance does not mean that every conceivable effect of that substance can be claimed or is sufficiently proven.

We therefore answer different questions: What is included? In what form? In what quantity per serving? How many servings does a package contain, and what does one cost? Which claim is legally permitted, and under what condition?

Where no health-related claim is approved for a substance, we write that down instead of paraphrasing it. The goal is not to make a product more interesting through stronger promises, but to provide enough comprehensible data so that you can decide for yourself.

How the texts on this site are created

Guide, category, and product texts are checked for health-related claims before publication. We use approved claims according to EU law verbatim and state the condition that must be met for them. Everything else describes composition and quantities, not effects.

Product details, quantities, and prices come from our own inventory and are checked against the stock before publication. A published text is subsequently not rewritten, but only corrected if a factual error exists or the legal situation changes.

If you notice an error, write to us. We will correct it and state what has been changed.

What I work with technically

  • Shopify and API integration, Admin API, GraphQL and REST, automated product and content processes
  • Technical SEO, URL structure, redirects, multilingual migrations, indexing
  • Automation and data pipelines, Python, PostgreSQL, webhooks, quality assurance
  • Analytics and conversion optimization, GA4, Search Console, customer journey
  • Server operation and release management, Linux, Git, staging, automated testing

For me, a good shop does not just consist of products. Product data, content, navigation, search, and technical quality must function as a whole, otherwise the customer will not find what they are looking for.

What my qualifications do not mean

A trainer certification and emergency medical training do not make me a doctor, nutritional physician, or nutritionist. I do not provide individual medical or nutritional advice at Best Supps, and nothing on this page replaces a conversation with a suitably qualified professional.

In the case of existing illnesses, when taking medication, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, or with other individual health questions, the use of dietary supplements should be clarified with a doctor in advance.

For me, this boundary is just as much a part of credible information as the description of a product.
